Domestic Newsflash

Pre-production!  For all of you filmmakers, it’s a meaningful word.
So much preparation has to be done before the ‘real’ thing happens. Sunday our crew begins to arrive and actual shooting starts early on Tuesday.
For weeks now we’ve worked on script drafts, shot lists, location lists, cast lists, costume list, kraft services lists, prop lists, equipment lists, and lots of schedules.
We run around in circles getting everything ready for the set-   making that trip to wal-mart for the hundredth time for super glue, duct tape, spray paint, and ice-cream.
That is how movie-making works: pre-planning comes before I switch jobs from helper to actress and assume the role of a new character.

In the same way, that is the way life works. Our lives are the pre-production era of preparation and work before the eternal ‘real thing’ begins and we take on the transformation of a new creation fit for heavenly things.

Please keep the Sampley family, cast, crew, volunteers, and equipment in your prayers! There is a great enemy that would like to destroy everyone’s attempt to do a good and godly work, but our prayers united together invites a greater power.

You can see from the pictures above, that our garage, fridge, little fridge, and deep freeze are loaded with food for kraft services. Our bedrooms have been turned into dorms; the Sampley kids are in one room, and everyone else will be in the other one and the attic. A trailer has been graciously lent to us for even more crew members.
Already, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and strangers have volunteered time and items for the project. We thank them so much!

Hopefully, I’ll post tidbits and behind the scene morsels during our three week shooting push. It’s time to send Dad the Hero on his Vacation!
